FOX VALLEY WINNIES

January Luncheon Meeting

On Sunday January 7, 2007, Thirty-three Fox Valley Winnies met at Sam Houston's Char House, formally known as Carmalitas Cocina, for our first get together of the New Year.

 

Members started arriving before noon. Those attending were: John and Diana Ahaus, Chuck and Sue Borcher ,Fred and Janice Bruneman, Bob and Laurie Dukes, Bob and Edna Gardner, Ginny Innocenti, Charles and Helen Jones, Dale and Penny Marting, Wally and Lorrie Metzer, Ken and Sandie Nelson, Al and Sandra Oswald, Bill Powell, Rick and Gail Postal, Otto and Georgie Ryl, Estel and Norma Schermerhorn, Jim and Marilyn Wenberg, Wayne and Kathy Whiteside.

 

We met in the Ball Room again this year. Snack cups were provided for all. Al gave directions to the Buffet and we had menus on the tables. This year we were asked to go one table at a time. After the invocation people kept on visiting. It was hard for people to break up their conversations, to go get their food. The food and service was great.

 

Bob Gardner spoke about the April state outing on the 27, 28 where we will be furnishing Dinner.

John Ahaus spoke about the campout on June 8-10 at the Thomson Causeway. Call him for more info.

Chuck Borcher talked about the Alaskan Cruise this summer.

 

A great and delicious time was had by all. Food and cash were collected for the Schaumburg Township food pantry.
