Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resort – Millbrook, Illinois Sunday, September 10, 2006
Present: John and Diana Ahaus, Carl and Barbara Bergstedt, Bob and Edna Gardner, Vince and Ginny Innocenti with their grandson, Giovanni, Brad and Sonja Kreiter, Ken and Sandi Nelson, Martin and Margaret Sanders, Ray and Carol Smith, Jim and Marilyn Wenberg, and guest of Wenbergs – Dale and Penny Marting.
President Ray Smith called the meeting to order on Sunday, September 20, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., and began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Ray thanked our Wagonmasters, Bob and Edna Gardner and Martin and Margaret Sanders for hosting the club outing this weekend.
Ray welcomed our guests Dale and Penny Marting – guests of Jim and Marilyn Wenberg and Vince and Ginny Innocenti’s grandson, Giovanni.
A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the August meeting as presented.
Ken Nelson presented the Treasurer’s Report indicating a balance of cash and other assets totaling $1,044.95. Annual Dues will be collected at the Annual Meeting in November. The report was approved as presented.
Old Business: Our club will be responsible for housekeeping at the State Rally on September 22, 23, and 24th in Crescent City. Ray asked for a show of hands for those who will be attending. Next year Fox Valley’s responsibilities for the State outings are: April 27, 28, 29, 2007 (Spring Outing) – Saturday Evening Meal September 28, 29, 30, 2007 (Fall Outing) - Parking Barb Bergstedt, who maintains the scrapbooks and history of the club, has these books available for viewing. Barb asked the members for any pictures taken at the outings to mail them to her so she can include them in the book.
New Business: Bob Gartner introduced the ‘2007 Slate of Officers; President, Dennis Relihan Vice President, Don Chilson Secretary, Connie Relihan Treasurer, Ken Nelson Slate of Officers will be voted on at the October outing and installed at the Annual Meeting in November.
Bob Gartner stated that Customer Appreciation Octoberfest at Barrington Motors will be Saturday, September 30, 2006 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. They will be having an Octoberfest style Buffet Lunch at 12:00 (noon), view all the exciting 2007 models, Service Seminars start at 1:00 pm and all the staff will be on hand to answer any and all questions. October 13, 14, 15, 2006 (Friendship Outing) – Kentuckiana Kamp & Opry – Reservations need to be made with the camp ground by September 15th. Friday evening (October 13th) we will be treated to an Annual Chili Supper in the recreation hall – cooked by the camp ground. Saturday evening (October 14th) will be Family Night at Kentuckiana – hear family members of the band perform as guests. Sandie Nelson distributed brochures and explained the “Operation Christmas Child” Shoe Box project. At the Annual Meeting Sandie will collect the shoe boxes or items that people would like to bring for the shoe boxes and she will make up the boxes. Our service projects are: Operation Christmas Child – Coordinated by Sandie Nelson Food Bank – Coordinated by Phil Russell for the Woodridge Food Pantry South Suburbs (PASS) Pregnancy Centers for Baby items – Coordinated by Carol Smith These activities contribute to the FVW’s Chapter of Excellence Award November 4 (noon) – The Annual Meeting will be held at Barrington Motors at 12:00 noon. New officers will be installed and Barrington Motors will provide lunch.

Ten coaches arrived at the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resort in Millbrook, Illinois as guests of Bob and Edna Gartner and Martin and Margaret Sanders. A few of the Fox Valley Winnies Golfers were able to play 18 holes on Friday morning. On Friday evening our hosts started us out with great appetizers and then everyone enjoyed a fish fry and grilled chicken with potluck sides and desserts. After dinner everyone visited around a roaring campfire, thanks to John Ahaus. Saturday some took in the Sandwich Fair while others enjoyed the day socializing. Saturday evening we again were served a wonderful pork chop dinner with potatoes, vegetables, and wonderful desserts and then sat around the campfire and visited.
The stormy weather on Saturday night broke in the morning to allow the men to fix our Sunday morning breakfast of Bob’s famous stuffed French Toast with strawberries, scrambled eggs, sausage, and juice. A great weekend was had by all and our wagonmasters kept us well fed with wonderful meals. Many visited until about noon before packing up and starting for home.

Illinois Indians State Fall Outing Crescent City, Illinois September 22, 23, 24, 2006
On September 22 - 24, 2006, Illinois Indians gathered at Crescent City, IL for the Fall State Outing with 46 coaches. In attendance from Fox Valley Winnies were; John and Diana Ahaus, Chuck and Sue Borcher, Brad and Sonja Kreiter, Wally and Laurie Metzer, Ken and Shirley Poupa, and Ray and Carol Smith.
On Friday morning three of our Fox Valley Winnie Golfers were able to find a golf course and played 18 holes of golf. Friday evening we had hotdogs plus delicious potluck items added. Several members stayed around to play dominos and 31 card game.
Saturday morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast prepared by the Prairie Schooners Club members. After breakfast a business meeting was held. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Theme of “007” for the June 22 – 24, 2007 Indiana’s State Rally. The Nominating Committee introduced the nomination of the following:
President – Ron Kauffman (Windy City Winnies) Vice President – Steve Martin (Fourwinds Winnies) Secretary – Christina Crabtree (Little Egypt Winnies) Treasurer – Geri Baader (Prairie Scooners)
A motion was made and seconded to accept and install the 2007 officers as introduced.
Fox Valley Winnies were invited to an Open House at Poupa’s new 2007 Journey. Wine, cheese, snacks and a good time of socializing was enjoyed in their new coach. After Saturday dinner a large number of members stayed around to play card bingo, dominos, 31, and card golf. Saturday evening was filled with fun and laughter.
Sunday after breakfast and a short devotional it was time for Fox Valley to begin their housekeeping duties. Ray appreciated and wants to thank everyone for their help with the clean-up and putting tables and chairs away. A wonderful weekend was enjoyed by all.
