The Winnie Poo Club, an Illinois chapter of the Winnebago Travelers Club, is one of the oldest chapters continually operating in the state of Illinois. We will celebrate our 35^th anniversary on March 23, 2008 and we are very pleased to still have some charter members in our club.

Our members come to us from approximately the center of the state; ranging from Kewanee on the North, Galesburg on the West, Bloomington/Normal on the East and Springfield in the South, with our center being in the greater Peoria area.

We invite Winnebago/Itasca owners who are members of WIT o join us, regardless of where they are located. Our boundaries are flexible.

We are a group of Winnebago-Itasca motorhome owners who enjoy fellowship. We have scheduled campouts the 2^nd weekend of each month from April through October, dinner outins in the months of November, December, January * and March*. Occasionally, it is necessary to change our outing from the 2^nd weekend to another weekend due to conflicts, such as Easter, Mothers’ Day, etc.

(*outings these months are dependent upon the weather and availability of members.)

Our group enjoys traveling throughout Illinois and surrounding states, taking in sites not previously visited, as well as returning to certain campgrounds we have enjoyed in the past. We also enjoy taking tours of factories, businesses, museums, etc. when possible. To mention just a few, this past year (2007) we toured the Fish Hatcheries near Havana, the David Davis Mansion in Springfield, the John Deere Museum and Mansion, the Rock Island Arsenal, a Wind Tower Farm near Lexington and Leroy and the Hennepin Canal and the Geneseo Museum in Geneseo. In addition, two members of our chapter put together an 8-day trip through Northeastern Iowa and Southern Wisconsin, including a visit to the Field of Dreams, The House on the Rock and a Harley Davidson Factory as well as many other historic and interesting sites.

Our club is very friendly, enjoys having a good time, welcomes all interested Winnebago-Itasca owners. Our members come from many different backgrounds and w enjoy hearing about and learning from all of them.

Our members are there to assist one another whenever needed – both personally and mechanically (the men love looking into each others’ motorhome problems and solving them.)

The Winnie Poo Club has been awarded the Chapter of Excellence Certifice by WIT continuously for the years 2000 – 2007. We are always hoping to add another one for each year.
